It will fill you with resilience – that’s pineapple’s gift to you. Did you know it takes almost a year for a pineapple to grow? In that time, it grows through every season; Winter, Autumn, Summer & Spring – so, when it comes to resilience, pineapple knows a thing or two! It has that tough, prickly armour that protects the fruit all-year round, so when you eat the flesh, you benefit from the resilience it has stored within. Any wonder pineapple is naturally good for helping us cleanse and remove toxins from our body.
Turmeric – the most used and researched spice on the planet!
Turmeric has been used in cooking and part of Indian Medicine for thousands of years. Its key ingredient Curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. And, when you combine turmeric with black pepper the piperine in black pepper enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2,000% – it makes it more easily absorbed by your body!
Black Pepper – playing a vital role
Piperine, found in black pepper is an alkaloid like what you find in chilli and cayenne peppers. It helps relieve headaches, nausea, digestive issues and it is also anti-inflammatory. But, when you pair it with Turmeric (as in this smoothie), it plays a vital role in helping your body absorb all of the nutrients from the Turmeric.
Ingredients - Makes 2 Cup
2 cups Organic Coconut Water
1 cup Pineapple frozen
1 Banana frozen (or fresh)
1 tsp Lime Juice
1 tbsp Turmeric (grated)
1 tsp Ginger (grated)
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
Tip: You can use ground turmeric and ginger, but fresh is best!
Tip: Adjust the pepper to suit your desired tastes.
Method
Step 1: Gather your ingredients and place them into the blender as follows:
Add your Pineapple
Add your Banana
Add Turmeric
Add Ginger
Add Pepper
Add Lime Juice
Pour in your Coconut Water
Step 2: Blend all together in your Kuvings Vacuum Blender
Place the lid on the jug and the noise-reduction cover on
Touch ‘power on’ button
Select vacuum blend option
Let the Blender do its thing.
