Yes, you can use banana in a Kuvings cold press juicer. You don't get juice, you get flavour and texture.

This recipe is all about the yellow fruits in Autumn. The yellow colour pigments help strengthen your immune system and I can tell you just from making this juice, you will feel a sense of childlike wonder and play to start your day.

Amazing flavour, it is sweet and tangy with a thick, creamy texture, almost like a smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 2 banana

  • 2 pear

  • 2 golden delicious apples

  • 1 lemon

Juicing Time: 4 mins
Juice Qty: 500ml

Preparation

Banana

  • Peel the skin

  • Juice whole

Apple

  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers

  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.

  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute.

Pear

  • Remove the hard wooden stems

  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute

Lemon

  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard endpoints

  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon.

Method

You have to start with the bananas. I know you don't get juice from a banana but they will add flavour and some flesh will push through the press when you add the next ingredients.

Next, add the apples one at a time letting each one press through before adding the next one.

Now add the pears in the same way as the apples. If the pears are too soft they take some time to press through the juicer.

Finish with the lemon slices. You can add them all at once.

Tip: After making the juice pour 500ml of filtered water into the juicer with the cap closed. Let it rinse for a minute or two before releasing the cap into an empty jug. You can then keep this flavoured water in the fridge as a refreshing homemade lemonade drink.
