How to make a Green Velvet Juice - Kuvings Cold Press Juicer
This juice recipe is as soft and smooth as velvet, almost like a smoothie, hence the name of the juice.
It makes a great breakfast juice because all the ingredients require very little preparation as they juice whole and of course with your Kuvings Cold Press Juicer your juice will retain it’s nutrients up to 3 days stored in a glass bottle in the fridge.
The fruits provide valuable glucose for energy in the morning, and parsley provides an abundance of minerals.
Pears and apples have soluble fibre in the juice to help move the bowels first thing in the morning.
Taste
Sweet with a nice herb flavour coming from the parsley.
Ingredients
4 Apples (green)
4 Kiwifruit
3 Pears
1 Parsley (bunch)
Yield: 1 Litre
Preparation
Apple
Remove the stems.
Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.
Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the chute.
Pear
Remove the hard wooden stems.
Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the chute.
Kiwifruit
Thinly slice the outer brown skin (you can juice it but changes the colour of the juice).
Juice kiwifruit whole.
Parsley
Roughly chop leaves and stems.
Juice handfuls at a time.
Method
Start by putting all the parsley into the juicer.
Next juice the kiwifruit one at a time. Kiwifruit is soft so you need to let the machine press each one fully before adding the next one.
Juice the pears whole or in half if they are too big for the chute.
Finish with the apples.
Tip: When a pear is hard and crunchy it juices better, and its fibre content is higher. When a pear is soft, its glucose levels are higher, it is very easy to digest and better eaten or blended in a smoothie.
