Ingredients
3 Celery
1 Carrot
1 Beetroot
1 Apple - use colour of choice
2 Oranges
1 Ginger - 2cm piece
1/2 Lemon
Preparation
Celery
Chop stalks into small thumb-size pieces across the stalks (this shortens the long stringy cellulose fibre and stops it from wrapping around the press)
You can juice celery leaves, however it will add bitterness, so discard if you don’t like this
Carrot
Cut carrot once lengthwise to release the core
Juice with skin on
Note: If larger carrots are used cut lengthwise again, into quarters
Beetroot
Cut in half and then into quarters
Slice each half into thin slices to make it easier to press
Juice with skin on (you can also juice the leaves and stems if you have them)
Apple
Remove the stem
Juice apple whole with skin and seeds
Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the chute
Oranges
Thinly cut off the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible
Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the chute
Ginger
Wash and dry
Cut into thin pieces the size of your thumbnail leaving the skin on
Lemon
Cut off any hard end points
Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from lemon.
Cold Press Juicing Method
Start with the oranges adding them one at a time then add the apple.
Juice the carrots next, add one half at a time followed by the beetroot. Ensure to gradually put beetroot slices into the juicer, do not overload as beetroot is a hard vegetable, you want to avoid damaging your juicer.
Add the ginger next then add one handful of celery at a time until all the celery is juiced.
Finish with the lemon slices.
