Preparation

Oranges

  • Thinly cut off the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible

  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute

Lemons

  • Cut off any hard ends

  • Thinly cut off the lemon skin leaving as much white pith as possible

Ginger / Turmeric

  • Wash and dry

  • Cut into thin pieces the size of your thumbnail leaving the skin on

Tip: Keep the orange and lemon peel to use when cleaning the juicer

Method

  1. Start by adding one orange to the juicer to create a base, which helps prevent the turmeric from sticking to the press.

  2. Next, add a handful of turmeric pieces to the juicer, followed by a handful of ginger pieces.

  3. Continue alternating the ingredients, adding more turmeric and ginger pieces until you've used the desired amount.

  4. Save one lemon until last, and juice it to enhance the flavor and acidity of the mixture.

  5. Pour the freshly juiced mixture into ice moulds and freeze until solid.

  6. Once frozen, remove one ice cube from the mould and place it in a mug.

  7. Pour hot water over the ice cube, allowing it to melt and create a warm, soothing drink.

  8. Optionally, add some raw honey to the mug for extra immune-boosting properties and a touch of sweetness.

Tip: Make sure to flush with water immediately after making this juice and add the orange and lemon peel to help clean the press and strainer.
