Make a Chlorophyll Cocktail Juice
Description
There is a lot of living chlorophyll in this juice recipe. It is a cocktail of fresh fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, and herbs. You probably wouldn’t sit down and eat a whole bunch of parsley and then a bunch of raw kale leaves which is why juicing them is so beneficial. It is a powerful way to extract all the liquid nutrition.
The taste of this juice may surprise you as it did me. I expected it to be very green tasting but It was sweet, herbal and tangy. A very enjoyable, healthy juice to drink.
Ingredients
6 kale leaves
1 parsley (bunch)
1 cucumber, large
2 apple (green)
1 lime
Juicing Time: 3 mins
Juice Qty: 700ml
Serves: 2
Preparation
Kale
Roughly chop the leaves and the stalks
juice handful at a time
Parsley
Roughly chop leaves and stems
Juice handfuls at a time
Cucumber
Cut into chunks to fit down the chute
Juice with skin on
Apples
Remove the stems and remove any stickers
Juice apples whole with skin and seeds
Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute
Lime
Thinly slice off the outer skin
Juice whole
Method
Start with the parsley adding large handfuls at a time.
Next, add the kale also in large handfuls to the juicer. You will need the pusher to push down the kale onto the press in between handfuls.
Next, add the whole apple as it will help push the greens through the juicer.
Add the cucumber chunks one at a time after the apple has pressed through fully.
Finish making this juice recipe by putting the whole, peeled lime, into the juicer.
Tip: Choose smaller sized, tight leaved kale for a more mild flavour. The leaves should not be yellowed or brown. For maximum health benefits, use flat-leaf parsley over curly varieties.
