Rock On Breakfast Juice
Description
Rock melons are rock stars when it comes to juicing.
This juice gets you up and going. It is sweet, flavour-packed, and provides plenty of natural energy to kick-start your day. It is a perfect breakfast juice to have on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.
You get lots of juice (it’s 95% living water by weight) and very few calories.
Pears are also very juicy and sweet. They are, like oranges and rock melon, high in Vitamin C and copper which helps protect cells in the body from oxygen-related damage.
Pears target the womb (which is pear-shaped) and the ovaries. Rock melon targets the breast as do oranges and limes. This makes this juice especially beneficial for women looking to get more nutrients into the body targeting the reproductive system.
Taste
The taste is creamy and smooth with a hint of lime that gives it a nice bite.
Ingredients
1/2 rock melon
4 oranges
2 pears
1/2 lime
Juicing Time: 5 mins
Juice Qty: 1 litre
Serves: 4
Preparation
Rock Melon
Remove the outer skin (you can juice it but it changes the taste)
Cut into small pieces to fit in the wide chute
You can leave the seeds intact as they easily go through the juicer
Oranges
Remove the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible
Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
Pears
Remove the hard wooden stems
Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute
Lime
Thinly slice off the outer skin
Cut into slices
Method
I like to start making this juice with the rock melon to extract the most flavour. Place pieces in the chute one at a time.
Next juice the pears whole one at a time. If they are really soft they will struggle to go through the press so juice them first followed by the rock melon.
Next juice the orange whole. They will also help push the pear through.
Finish the juice with the halve a lime.
Tip: If the pears are really soft, juice one pear then one orange and repeat. Try to get firmer pears, they give more juice and are easier to press.
Enjoy!
